how to reach Amsterdam
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is one of the world’s most modern and efficient airports, designated ‘Best Airport in Europe’ (and fourth best in the world) in the 2010 Business Traveller Awards. Scheduled services fly into Schiphol from at least 128 destinations within Europe and from 108 non- European destinations. Some 110 airlines fly from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to more than 265 destinations worldwide. Schiphol train station is located directly below the airport and by train you arrive at Amsterdam Central Station within 15 minutes. Via Schiphol Plaza, you can walk straight to the departure or arrival hall. There are also 15 to 20 trains a day to destinations such as Brussels, Paris and Frankfurt.
Trains to Amsterdam Centraal Station from AMS leave every 15 minutes. The Amsterdam Centraal Station is more than a train station, it is a major attraction. And of course the Amsterdam Centraal station also serves as a hub of many departure points for domestic and international train trips.
Taxis can be handy when travelling to and from the airport, late at night when the trams have stopped running or when you’re running late. Depending on the traffic during peak times, however, public transport may get you there even quicker. Please make sure that you take an official taxi from the taxi stand, located outside, in front of the arrival hall.
